It begins under a tree, on an upturned drum, or balanced on a rock at the edge of a forgotten community. It starts with a shared plastic cup of something warm and a chief deciding whether to trust you — not with your money or credentials, but with his people.That is where JPSB Investments was born. Twenty-five years later, it is still how we work.
We started in South Africa by building shopping malls and fuel stations in rural areas long overlooked. We didn’t build and leave. From the beginning, we embedded community ownership into every development, believing that business only truly succeeds when the people around it are better off for its presence.That belief was tested during times of unrest. While many businesses suffered, our centres and stations stood untouched — protected not by guards, but by the communities who saw them as their own. When you prioritise relationships over transactions and ensure benefits flow broadly, people protect what belongs to them.This is not a strategy. It is our conviction. It has guided every decision for twenty-five years.
Today, JPSB Investments is a South African-owned company, incorporated in the United States, connecting Africa’s natural resources to global capital and markets. We have built deep, on-the-ground relationships across seven countries — Malawi, Zambia, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Liberia, and South Sudan — forged in person, over time, with genuine care for what each community and nation needs.
Our portfolio spans commodities such as gold, chrome, tobacco, and fertiliser, as well as multi-sector development partnerships where we act as investor, facilitator, and long-term operator. We don’t just trade — we build sustainable, compliant supply chains that embed communities and countries in the benefits, not only the labour.
The world has now turned its attention to Africa. We have been here for twenty-five years — not with briefcases, but with time, respect, and the willingness to sit and listen first.
